Paul Evans for St. Clair County Circuit Judge

Honesty, Integrity, Independence

Growing up on our family farm in Randolph County in Illinois, my mom and dad instilled the core values I have today. Nothing is given – you have to earn it. My dad was almost 57, when I was born, and could barely read or write. In grade school, he would take me to the feed store to help him read orders and sign his name.

By age 15, my dad’s health prevented him from working, so my mom gave me a share of the hogs we raised, giving me a stake in the family farm in order for me to make my own way. From then on, I earned enough money to pay my attendance at Gibault High School in Waterloo, and then at SIU-Carbondale. There, I earned my agricultural degree in just three years. After working for a few years at FS Farm Coop services, I earned my law degree there also.

It was these early years of life that gave me strong conservative values, and taught me the value of hard work which I have practiced throughout my life career. It is these values that I bring to the court house as your judge.
